A: The Viera Hospital will be owned and operated by Holmes Regional Medical Center. Holmes is a member of the Health First family of healthcare facilities.
Q: Why did Health First decide to locate a new hospital in Viera?
A: The Viera/Suntree area is the fastest growing region of Brevard County. With an expected 99 percent population increase in Viera between 2000 and 2010, the region demands a new state-of-the-art healthcare facility, and Health First is expanding its services to meet that demand.
Q: What is the Viera Health Park?
A: Viera Health Park will be a comprehensive healthcare campus that includes Viera Hospital (a full-service state-of-the art, high-technology hospital, with 84-private rooms, 16 observation beds, and comprehensive emergency room department), a two-story, 65,200-sq.-ft. Pro-Health & Fitness Center (already open) and a 76,000-sq.-ft. Medical Plaza for physicians.
Q: How many jobs will the Viera Health Park create and what kind of jobs will they be?
A: The initial phase of the project, the Pro-Health & Fitness Center at Viera, has created approximately 235 new jobs. Phase II of the project, including Viera Hospital and the Medical Plaza at Viera Health Park, is expected to create hundreds more new jobs at a variety of skill and pay levels.
