Our Program

The Center for Joint Replacement at Palm Bay Hospital in Brevard County, Florida is a new, specialized Orthopedics unit dedicated solely to patients undergoing joint replacement surgery. Our Center is staffed with an experienced team of Orthopedic Surgeons, specially-trained nurses, therapists, and technicians ready to deliver excellent medical care. We can evaluate your case to determine if you would be a good candidate for a knee replacement,  hip replacement, shoulder replacement, or other specialized joint replacement surgeries. Our highly skilled Joint Replacement Specialists are close to home on Florida's Space Coast.

Your journey will begin in your doctor’s office. Once you make the decision to have a joint replacement, The Center for Joint Replacement will work very closely with your doctor’s office and with you to make this journey as positive and smooth as possible. Your physician will discuss your options and together you will decide the best plan of action.

Upon arrival at the Center for Joint Replacement at Palm Bay Hospital, you’ll check in at our concierge desk where our specially-trained staff will escort you directly to your room where you’ll be registered in privacy. No waiting in registration lines, once you have been registered, the journey to recovery and back to an active lifestyle has started. From the day of surgery through discharge, our staff will be here to help you through the process.

During your stay, our team of expert surgeons, specially-trained nurses, therapists and technicians will work together to provide you the individualized attention you need. We want you to start the healing process with us, and then go home and continue that process in the comfort of your own home. After surgery, you’ll take part in our group rehabilitation sessions, complete with personal coaches. To ensure your comfort and facilitate the healing process, you can wear your own comfortable “workout” clothes! Along with group rehabilitation, The Center will offer joint replacement patient group activities, meals, and other special events.

Your Care 

Every detail, from pre-operative teaching to post-operative exercising, is considered and reviewed with you. The Joint Care Coordinator will plan your individual treatment program and act as your guide. The program is designed to return you to an active lifestyle as quickly as possible. Most patients will be able to walk the first day after surgery and move towards normal activity in six to twelve days. Preparation, education, continuity of care, and a pre-planned discharge are essential for optimum results in joint surgery. When you’re ready to leave, our Care Coordinator will help you get situated at home or in an outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation facility if necessary. Most patients are able to return home.
